Flirting can be difficult for everyone. Even the most confident people can freeze up and utter a "hey" when their crush approaches in the hallways. Don't panic. If you have trouble flirting, there are plenty of tips that will help you master the art and win your crush's affection.

1. Be confident. Confidence is the best thing. If you are confident and strutting down streets like you own them, then your crush (and everyone else) will notice. You will attract your crush to the girl who recognizes she is something special.
2. Show you're interested in their life. Everyone appreciates a compliment. Most people enjoy talking about themselves. Don't miss the chance to chat with your crush. Ask your crush lots of questions about their lives and show you are truly interested. They will appreciate your curiosity and be open to a second conversation.
3. Pay attention to your lips. This sounds crazy, but it really works. Keep chapstick and lip gloss handy. When you see your crush coming your way, swipe on a layer. You'll have them imagining those lips all day.
4. Smile and say hi when you pass them in the halls. I know, when you're walking down the hall and you see your crush approaching, it can be the scariest feeling in the world. Your gut reaction will probably be to look down at your phone and pretend like you're in a furious text conversation, but ignore those instincts, look up, and smile at them. There's no need to have a long conversation, unless you really want to. Just take a half-second to wave, say hi, then keep moving. Boom! You'll be on the radar of your crush.

5. Ignore your crush...but not for long. It's counterintuitive, isn't it? Imagine running into your crush at McDonald's with a group of their friends. You can say hello to your crush's friends and start a convo. Your crush will feel the tiniest bit left out, until you turn to include them (and make their day).
6. The bump-and-flatter is a skill you should master. "Accidentally" meet a hottie in a crowd. You can make a joke and say "Oh sorry." I become a total klutz around cute people." They'll be so impressed by you and want to know more . That's when you introduce yourself and start a convo.
7. They will be able to see you staring at them. It's scary! If someone spots you staring, you should quickly look away so they don’t realize that you were literally drooling and watching them eat a hamburger. This is what you should do next time. You can have all the confidence you need. Smile at your crush and smile back, perhaps even wink, when they catch you staring at you. This will show your crush that you are confident and give them an excuse to talk to you.
8. Take a look at their clothes. If they're wearing a band shirt or sport jersey, ask them about it. It will make you seem sincere and interested in their life, and it will start a nice conversation where you can learn more about each other.
9. Sometimes it's important to be obvious. Maybe you're playing frisbee in the park and you "accidentally" throw it toward the cuties near you. A sarcastic apology can let them know that you are flirting with them (and in on the joke), and may lead to a conversation.

10. Introduce your friend. You don't have to go it alone if you are too nervous to initiate a convo. Bring your friend along and introduce your crush to your friend. Although it may sound strange, sometimes it is easier to approach someone for another person.
11. Before you meet them, flirt. Text your crush, "You should be wearing that blue shirt tonight. It will make your eyes shine! :) A flirty message lets them know you are thinking of them and makes them want to see you again. Plus, seeing if they took your advice is a low-key way to gauge if they're interested in you.

12. To start the conversation, you can use something light and cheesy. If you are thinking about picking up lines, the only ones coming to your door are likely super lame, recycled ones. "Did it hurt...when your fell from heaven?" Or: "How much does an elephant weight? Just enough to ice the conversation! If you're trying to play it smooth but you're coming up short, embrace the awkwardness and just be cute as hell. Jughead Jones will appreciate it.
