A Historical Journey To The Past Newbridge Village

If you're planning visiting Newbridge we’ve put together many of the things nearby that you could see or do when you are here. These include, places to stay, tours and attractions, some upcoming events and places where one can grab meals.


Newbridge is a small tourist village inside the Central West of NSW that welcomes visitors and campers. It is often a great tourist spot to visit with good food offered at the Gladstone Hotel, go to the Art Gallery (Olde Bridge Gallery) , look at Craft Shop, or camp at the Showground. Take a ramble with the village with its interesting background and great scenery to understand more about. Newbridge can be found about 32 km from Bathurst and about 29 km from Trunkey Creek The locality was initially referred to as Back Creek or Reedy Creek, but renamed Newbridge on April 15 1878 when an overhead road traffic bridge was built within the railway line.

Newbridge can be a popular camping and fishing location with campsites available along the river. A point of pride for the town, town have kept the building beautifully maintained, and Newbridge has won numerous awards for just one of the most useful presented stations in the state.


One of Australia's oldest and largest regional galleries presenting innovative exhibitions alongside an engaged and varied suite of public programs and events. If you would like to determine many of the displays from the Camera Group then visit Ye Olde Gallery at the corner of Trunkey and Caloola Street in Newbridge.


The Newbridge Winter Solstice is often a day of medieval magic and music. It takes place in the pub (closed for your occasion) and also on the Gladstone Green. The entertainment has contains magic shows, Viking fighting displays in the afternoon (from Iron Fest participants), food stalls, Morris Dancers, many market stalls, two bands (one in the afternoon and another for your night), horse display, street entertainment and also other activities to the younger people. There will probably be drink available from the Gladstone Hotel (Strong Ale, Draft Guinness and other merry-making fortifications as well!). There is going to be ample food to accommodate everyone (vegetarians included) from food stalls too as the Pub. Most people is going to be put on Medieval Costume to include in the merriment.


The highlight of a special afternoon festivities will be the lighting and burning of the Wickerman on the large bonfire at 5pm. People are encouraged to buy small Wickermen earlier, write their problems around the tag and later on throw them about the fire to have them burnt away!
