I knew that it would be big she said to Winfrey, but I had no idea it would be this huge. Before Ellen 1997's episode, ratings were dropping. Even though that episode was a hit however, the ratings did not improve. ABC pulled the show following year. Although ratings were one factor in the decision, the Los Angeles Times reported that the Southern Baptist Convention called for boycotts by Disney (which was the owner of ABC). Numerous advertisers have pulled out from the show's viewers due to their displeasure over the show's sexuality.

The Ellen Show, a 2001 CBS sitcom that was hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, was cancelled just a few weeks after its premiere. This prevented the possibility of a TV return. She was a talk-show host
September 2003. Ellen DeGeneres launched a syndicated talk show that aired on the daytime channel, which is an extremely competitive market that produces more failures as well as successes. The way I see it, is that we're beginning an exciting new relationship. DeGeneres told viewers in the monologue that aired for the premiere episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Ellen and Portia
Ellen DeGeneres, Portia De Rossi, and their romance began in 2001. However, sparks erupted when the two reconnected VH1 Big in the 2004 awards held in December of 2004. They soon got married.
