Ciri fisiknya, ia bewarna hijau dan Basilisk jantan memiliki buku kemerahan di kepalanya.
Matanya bewarna kuning, dan kedua mata Basilisk adalah salah satu bagian yang paling mematikan, karena bagi siapapun yang menatap mata Basilisk akan langsung tewas.
Basilisk juga memiliki bisa yang sangat beracun, bisa Basilisk bisa menewaskan seseorang hanya dalam beberapa menit saja, membuat orang tersebut mengantuk lalu penglihatannya kabur sebelum akhirnya tewas.
