In station 4, we had to bent a hanger back and forth...when we did we found out it produced heat. The heat produced from the hanger was thermal energy which is the energy of heat. The act of us bending the hanger back and forth was motion energy. In this case m=motion and t=thermal and h=hanger... so m+h=t which means bending the hanger = heat.
In station 6 we used; a live wire and hot water. What we did was look at the live wire in its original form. Then we bent it a lot then put it in the hot water. To our surprise it bent back to its original shape. It turns out it had a "memory". It kinda remembered its original shape. When a live wire is in contact with heat it expands. They use live wires in stuff like green houses and braces. The transferred energy is that the live wire expands in heat.
Also, in station 3 we measured the change of heat on shade and sun. The results were weird because it was hotter on the shade side then the sun side. At the start, the temperature on the sun side was 19 and the temperature on the shade side was 23. After 5 minutes, the sun temp was at 22 and shade at 23. After 5 more minutes, the sun temp was at 21 and the shade at 25 and that continued for 10 more minutes. The transferred energy is heat or thermal energy.
