In Both passages, the authors both agree and disagree on their points of view over the Chinese Cultural Revolution. In passage 1, The author of “China Cultural Revolution” gives you a point of view of this event they learned from history. Passage 2, Red Scarf Girl. gives the opposite point of view. This author actually experienced the Chinese cultural revolution first hand.

The first reason is that passage one mostly talks about China's Cultural Revolution and how their ups and downs while passage two circles around the fact that the author is wealthy. Passage one states, “In the beginning, this seemed like a fair plan: no longer would a wealthy aristocrat treat peasants poorly. The local government would oversee the welfare of the people. However, there were serious problems with the new system because the land was not always managed well, and drought often spoiled the crops. Farmers did not make much money from the state since they had to charge low prices for their produce.”This evidence states how the peasants weren’t treated fairly and how bad that year was for them and also how they didn’t make lots of money so they were poor. On the other hand passage two states, "The Red Guards might say that only a rich child could ride a camel. And besides, Grandma's wearing a fur coat." She threw it in the fire.” This evidence shows that passage two characters are more fortunate than passage one. Passage two also doesn’t talk about peasants but passage one does. One thing both passages have in common is both authors agree that in how the revolution changed lives.

Therefore, that’s how both passages have similarities and differences. Also how China's Cultural Revolution had its ups and downs and why they did.As well as how Author was more fortunate and how they had life easy compared to passage one.
