Assessment Meeting

- world vision with project managers, we could potentially have 850 shoe boxes,
- world vision works with about 90 different ministries across the country
- so where is metro kids and what are the next steps to make metro kids grow
- there is 25 questions that will be asked in this meeting and then we will determine how to grow this ministry


(Side notes for Metro kids)
- Pastor mike started 20 years ago and has been here since the start of the church
- so a lot of the money that comes into metro kids comes from fund raising to and monthly donations
-if you can measurer it you can manage it
- after 25 years there should have been way more growth.
- so after this meeting and seeing the lack of growth and, lack of numbers, and vision, i will be taking not for profit and summit bible college
- some of the biggest donations and contributions to Metro Kids from non-Christians
- Organizational, capacity is the ability to assess the situation, Design the response, Evaluate the response, Implement and monitor the plan
- how can we take a kid and support him all the way through, from kids club to young adult
- use bored members as assets, as part of your staff rather then dumping the whole work load onto the staff members
- the most stable way of growing this small organization is stable monthly donors
- ok so for risk management, we need to look out for lawsuits, have a written plan for risk management,
- so at what point in time do we take volunteer management, off of mikes hands and give it to someone els?
its diversification, we need to branch out instead of hanging one person doing everything

Questions

- OK so what's the new response, the kids in Surrey are not the same the same kids we are serving 25 years ago poverty is moving from down town Vancouver to Surrey

- Metro kids is at a Level 3 in years of operation, being up and running for 15-25 years
- Revenue Generated last year is a Less then a Level 1 on the question survey. it stands to make less then $250,000 per year.
- Number of staff ranks less then a Level one one the scale they have less then 3 full time staff
- Shared mandate, Values, Mission, Vision so there a 2.....
- Strategic Planning, Based on week, to week plans, annual operating plans, yearly review plans,
3 year and 5 years plans, based on the Assessment tool we were given, we were rated..... a Level 1
- Board of Governance, is an advisory committee that helps organizational leaders to make informed decisions
it is essentially a hierarchy of people... who can help deal with funding, Our rating on the Assessment form is rated a Level
- Partnerships, Exploring them, and having written contracts, on terms of having them as assets, so they can be reviewed yearly, and in developing strategic partnership, on the Assessment tool, we rank a Level 2
- Resource Development planning do we have a mailing list, of current and potential donors, and reach out to new contacts, do we have a written Board-Endorsed a 2-3 resource developing strategy? on this assessment we rank a Level 2
- Funding diversification, its the same thing i have in my journal We rank a Level 2 on Diversification
- fundraising events, so is there a way to save headache? can we find a easy way, to raise the same amount of money if we have a $10,000 fund raiser can we cut our work in half to save staff and volunteer time?
- Financial Transparency, they are in some one in good standings with the Canadian revenue agency. they are a Level 1 in financial transparency
- Risk Management,
- Expenditure Allocation, how much is the senior pastor making? how much are we spending on fundraising? are
CRA? Rated a Level 1
- staff recruitment, and performance, do we have a written staff development plan of an annual performance review, on this we rank a level 2 we need a written piece.
- Staff compensation and benefits, Level 1
- volunteer Management, Do we have a volunteer Coordinator? do we have outline, policies, and procedures,
on this we rank a Level 3
