That would be the happiest day of the couple : Kelly Ecker , nurse, and George Scott Samson , physician , were married Saturday afternoon in Terre Haute, Indiana, United States.For their wedding night , they were both dead .

Samson , an anesthesiologist from Union Hospital in Terre Haute, shot his wife and then himself at his home just hours after exchanging their vows , authorities said .Some of the guests noticed tension between the couple almost immediately to say "I do ," said Clark Cottom , the deputy head of Vigo Country . " Some guests tell us that the couple did not speak during the reception ."

After the reception , the couple attended some guests at his home just outside of Terre Haute, Cottom said.

Shortly after the last guest left, the county dispatch center received a 911 call , according to the transcript and tape provided by the authorities.

Emergency calls

The first call was made at 1:25 am.

The caller said that Kelly was only able to give an address, then the call was cut off .

In a second call , take a minute later, the caller said, "He is beating the s *** out of me " and then " he has weapons," Scott Samson and identified by name.

On the third call , made at 1:27 am Cottom said it is clear that the situation worsened as the voice of the caller sounded more distressed . She said " Oh my God " and then shots were heard .When authorities arrived at the scene they were met at the door by a relative of Samson older man.

"He led authorities to the bedroom where they found the body of Kelly ," Cottom said.Besides man , two others were in the house: the 10 year old Ecker was in the bedroom where he was found the body of his mother, the child was unharmed , detailed Cottom .

Another relative , a woman , was in the house at the time of the shooting, and was also uninjured , authorities said .

Samson was still inside the home when authorities arrived , so they opted to leave the three people and leave them in a safe place , Cottom said .

The older man told police that he saw Samson fled the room to another part of the house to get more ammunition , and then ran down to the basement , authorities said .

Police surrounded the house immediately .

" The house is near a wooded area and a field of corn, and we did not want an armed man running towards deep forest," Cottom said.

A special response team used a robotic device equipped with a camera to get into the house, said Cmdr .

When he spotted Samson in the basement , it was clear what had happened .

" Samson did not respond . Saw a gunshot wound ," Cottom said.

Samson 's body was found near his gun and where previously removed other weapons , Cottom said. Samson was a gun enthusiast and had a licensed federal firearms , Cottom said.

This week, the authorities were taking inventory of weapons inside the house . Cottom said they had removed several dozen of them.
