Ms. A’s How to DBQ: Question, Annotating, Planning/Organizing

DO NOW:
Answer the following questions:
How would you rate your ability to understand the DBQ question you are to answer (e.g. what the question is asking you to do)? (4-3-2-1) Explain
It is a 2 because when I know the question it is like any other sentence and I have no idea what is means until I need to read the whole article to know what is is about and i need to annotate the article and that takes up all of my time.
How would you rate your ability to plan and organize evidence (e.g. grouping evidence together by common ideas and developing topics)? (4-3-2-1) Explain
It is a 3 because in a group when the people share ideas it makes the text 10 times easier to understand and to annotate knowing something about the text.

STEP 2: Read and Annotate:
Read the documents once through
Annotate the documents using the Annotation Guide
STEP 3: Identify and Categorize Evidence:
Complete the following:
Look through Documents A, B, C, and D.
Identify evidence (quotes/information) FROM THE DOCUMENTS that are Pro (for) or Con (against) re-upping.
Place these Pros and Cons into the following graphic organizer.
MAKE SURE YOU WRITE WHAT DOCUMENT THEY COME FROM (e.g. Doc. A).
