5/5 Stars! Read April 8th. I seem to have rated a lot of the books that I have read this year with 5/5 stars. Whether that is simply coincidence or my own fault for having too small of an expectation for what I read The Midnight Library still takes the cake as one of my favorite reads EVER and if I could rate it a nonsensical 6/5 stars, I would.

This book's protagonist, Nora Seed, dies at the young age of 35 (From causes I will leave unmentioned) and is awoken in a library filled with an infinite number of copies of what is seemingly the same book. The librarian of this aptly named 'Midnight Library' informs the reader, and Nora, that each of the books tells of Nora's life at the exact point in time that she died where she had made a single decision in her past differently, some large and some small. Nora begins to read each book and is whisked away into another life of her own to witness the changes that her various decisions have made to the world around her. Some of these changes excited and enthralled her, others disappointed and caused great hurt and anguish. Until she finds the life that suits her the best where she will stay until she dies of old age.

This book contains everything from the intricacies of the human mind, LOADS of philosophy, an introspection into regrets and the great importance of small choices. The inclusion of quantum physics and the idea of multiple parallel universes is such an interesting topic.

I have loads of quotes and introspective thoughts that this book made stand out to me and I believe that reading this book has TRULY changed me for the better. I would recommend it to all.



5/5 Stars! Read April 7. As with the rest of the Dark Tower series books this one was even better than the last! The riddles, Blaine the Mono, the character progression of our Ka-Tet. There's only one man who can bring this all to life with such intense realism coming from such a place of deep existential fantasy.... The King.. Stephen King, that is. Definitely recommend this read to anyone looking for something to make them think their brains out!!
