3.Temperature (endothermic (left), exothermic (right))

The states of matter:
1.solid-particles tightly compact, definite volume, vibrating in place, do not move relative to each-other
2.liquid-packed tightly, definite volume, move relative to each-other so take shape of container
3.gases-spread out as far as can go so take shape of WHOLE container

Change of State:
Thermal energy: (heat energy) is a way to change the state of matter by the motion of the particles (speed), the faster the particles the hotter the substance, and higher thermal energy.
-Increasing Thermal energy will make particles move faster until they fall apart, they move faster then until they have enough energy to break free into the gas state.

Types of changes of matter:
1.Freezing: liquid to solid, decrease Thermal energy until they do not move freely.
2.Melting: solid to liquid, increase Thermal energy until move semi-free.
3.Vaporizing: liquid to gas, decrease Thermal energy the particles have enough energy to move freely.
4.Condensation: gas to liquid, decrease Thermal energy until gas becomes a liquid.
5.Sublimation: solid to gas, increase Thermal energy.
6.Deposition: gas to solid, decrease Thermal energy.
