How to Play Fan Tan
Fan Tan, or fan-tan is an ancient Chinese betting game also long known in China. It is controlled by the Chinese round system, which is used to control many other games. It is a game that has no chance, but shares some similarities with Roulette. This time, however, the wheel does not spin counter-clockwise. Instead, it spins in the reverse.

There are 14 cards on the Fan Tan deck. A standard game board has four sevens facing up. In this game, there are two sevens facing down. The two sevens face up are called the "low ball" and the high ball. The low ball is placed in front each player in traditional fan tanning. The high ball is kept hidden from all players except one. This player must then deduce that the card is fantan and call who has the most cards the winner.


The high cards are the 14 points facing up on a card. You would play fan-tan at a regular table with a regular deck. There are two types: the standard and special Fantans. The standard fantasy contains 14 cards, while special fantasy includes seven, five, four, and three additional cards.

The basic set-up for a standard 52 card deck of fan-tans consists of one outer ring for each of the fourteen high cards. The player begins the game selecting the lowest card in the middle. Four high cards are then placed around this low card. The players place their bets on which high card they think will win. Once a player is done placing his bets and has folded his cards, it's over. All players have been declared the winners.

A Fan Tan is made up of 14 cards: the four high cards and three low cards. To make way for the high cards, however the player will need to remove two low cards.
