Testing at Streaming Live Academy is showing us how Shadow of the Tomb Raider Xbox Series X|S FPS Boost can boost the game to 4K - 60 FPS with the Xbox Series X. This news is a wonderful treat to us next gen owners as well as future owners since it just keeps improving an Xbox Series X|S more affordable with the pass of days.
The Xbox Series S is not as stunning, delivering us 900p - at 30 FPS, with Shadow of the Tomb Raider Xbox Series X|S FPS Boost Update and because the game isn't receiving optimization for Xbox Series X|S update that could increase the resolution of it to a higher level, the Xbox Series S to a higher level, as it is running of the Xbox One S settings, but none the less it's a welcome upgrade for free just in case we don't get an optimized Xbox Series X|S upgrade or remaster later on down the road.
The Xbox One X has the same game settings as those on the Xbox Series X which are higher resolution and performance mode. Both on the Xbox Series X are giving us 60 FPS, with the performance mode giving 1080p, which I wouldn't recommend using unless you really need locked 60 FPS or have a VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) to compensate for those flaws.
I personally don't worry to much about it because I do have VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) television, however, even if I did not I wouldn't bother about it since the game does not drop the FPS often and this is not a game that is competitive, so the drops are not so important.
On a side note VRR won't be sufficient to be sufficient if it fell below 50 FPS frequently, since VRR can mask the drops of 60 to as low as 50 however, not below 50 or else it would not have any effect, but the drops are rare.
There will not be any graphic changes since this is an enhancement behind-the-scenes of FPS only. Streaming Live Academy tested the loading and found nothing to be different.
As a side note, I bought this game in a sale, but I did not play it until it was released via the Xbox Game Pass which made me feel dumb that I did not wait. I have gotten over it as it did end up leaving it and I like to own my games as much as possible with the exception of Microsoft first party ones since they'll be on the Xbox Game Pass indefinitely cause Microsoft owns the studio.
