North Raleigh venomous zebra cobra hunt is over after glue trap takes care of the problem.
Despite the efforts of animal control officers and law enforcement, in the end a glue trap captured a venomous zebra cobra on a north Raleigh porch, a 48-hour incident that generated nationwide interest.
The glue was removed from the cobra's body after being guided into a red bucket and brought to a safe location.
An earlier video interview had captured a striped snake crawling onto a porch on Sandringham Drive from the siding of a house. While raising its head to take a look around, its hood was visible.

When Animal Control officers confirmed the snake was the one they moved camera crews back before they attempted to catch it.
The search was sparked by a 911 call from the same home early Tuesday.

Joan Nelson expressed relief that the ordeal is over.
I feel a lot safer, said she. I feel extremely happy. After spending time on my deck, I feel like I can go outside now. The snake seems to have a lot of problems, though.
There is a striped snake in the yard of a north Raleigh neighborhood where a zebra cobra has gone missing.
Zebra cobras are fast, can spit up to nine feet, and can spit at high speeds, making even morning dog walks dangerous. In the opinion of the African Snakebite Institute, snakes are very dangerous. A victim's nervous system might shut down upon ingestion of the venom.
Those stung by the poison would experience severe pain, swelling, rashes, nausea, and diarrhea as a result. Afterward, a fever and breathing problems would result, possibly resulting in respiratory failure.
The Avian and Exotic Animal Care is run by veterinarian Salina Locke, who treats all types of pets.
The cobras in this species are not typically biting. Venom is more likely to be sprayed by them, since their venom hits straight for the eye since they are so accurate.
The snake is not recommended as a pet by Locke due to its risk.
Bite incidents are most common during sleep. Research shows that people who are bit may suffer health issues for years.
In the late afternoon on Tuesday, police searched 6917 Chamonix Place, near the place where the snake was last spotted.
Four officers were dispatched to that home for an animal issue in March. The zebra cobra was spotted on a porch a half mile away on Monday and Tuesday.
The records of the county show Rebecca and Keith Gifford live at the address. There is a Facebook account for Keith Gifford that shows several photos of snakes that he claims are owned by his son, Christopher.
On TikTok, Christopher Gifford has over 460000 followers. One of his posts claims that he owns a 7-foot zebra cobra.
