The venomous zebra cobra found in north Raleigh is trapped by a glue trap.
Following many hours of consultation and preparation by Animal Control officers, a glue trap was finally able to capture the deadly snake on a north Raleigh porch on Wednesday night, ending an eventful 48-hour period that attracted attention throughout North Carolina.
The glue was removed from the cobra's body by putting it in a red bucket and transporting it to a safe location.
The WRAL cameras captured the striped snake crawling out of the siding of a Sandringham Drive house, onto the front porch. A hood was visible wherever it turned its head.
After confirming the snake was the one they were trying to capture, Animal Control officers moved the camera crews back.
The search was sparked by a 911 call from the same home early Tuesday.

The North Carolina capital is Raleigh. Despite hours of preparation by animal control and law enforcement officers, a glue trap captured a venomous zebra cobra on a north Raleigh porch on Wednesday, capping an event that garnered attention throughout the state.
To completely remove the glue from its body, the cobra was seated in a red bucket and transported to a safe location.
The snake was seen crawling onto a porch of a house on Sandringham Drive earlier in the day. When it lifted its head to look around, its hood was visible.
After confirming it was the snake, Animal Control officers moved the camera crews back before moving in to capture it.
On Tuesday, police searched the same home after receiving a 911 call there.

It was a relief to neighbor Joan Nelson to have the ordeal over.
She said she feels much safer now and is very happy. After this experience, I feel like I can go outside, walk on the deck, or even go for a jog. It's very sad for the snake, though.
The snake in question was found laying out on a porch in a north Raleigh neighborhood where a zebra cobra had been reported missing.
The snake is a zebra cobra and can spit up to nine feet long, making even a morning dog walk a daunting task. The African Snakebite Institute cites the snake as extremely dangerous. Venom can cause the nervous system to shut down in victims.

Anyone who has been poisoned by the cobra will feel pain, swelling, irritation, vomiting, and diarrhea. Following a heavy fever, breathing problems would result, leading to respiratory failure.
Salina Locke is an experienced veterinarian at Avian and Exotic Animal Care, where she treats all types of pets.
Cobras of this type are rarely known to bite. The venom from them, she said, is typically sprayed. She said they are extremely accurate and shoot straight for the eyes.
Despite the risks involved, Locke does not recommend keeping this snake as a pet.
Most bites occur when a person is sleeping. Research shows that people who are bit may suffer health issues for years.
There was a police search of 6917 Chamonix Place Tuesday afternoon, near the street where the last sighting of the cobra was reported.
There was an animal issue at that home in March. They returned Monday and Tuesday after seeing the zebra cobra on a porch about a half mile away.
There are county records showing that Keith and Rebecca Gifford live at that address. The Facebook page containing Keith Gifford's name contains several photos of snakes that he claims to own.
Chris Gifford has more than 460000 followers on TikTok. He claims to have a zebra cobra seven feet long on one of his posts.
