North Carolina. Following a 48-hour saga that garnered attention from across North Carolina, a zebra cobra was caught on a Raleigh porch on Wednesday night, capping an incident that drew widespread attention.

To completely remove the glue from its body, the cobra was seated in a red bucket and transported to a safe location.

At youtube.com, a striped snake crawled out of the siding of a house on Sandringham Drive onto the front porch of a home earlier in the day. When it lifted its head to look around, the top of its hood was visible.

After confirming it was a snake, Animal Control officers moved the camera crews back of the area and attempted to capture it there.

An early morning 911 call from that same home prompted the search.

Joan Nelson said she was relieved the ordeal was over.

She said she feels much safer now and is very happy. After this experience, I feel like I can go outside, walk on the deck, or even go for a jog. Even so, I feel kind of sorry for the snake.

There is a striped snake in the yard of a north Raleigh neighborhood where a zebra cobra has gone missing.

Zebra cobras are fast, can spit up to nine feet, and can spit at high speeds, making even morning dog walks dangerous. The African Snakebite Institute reports that this snake is very dangerous. It is possible for the venom to cause a victim's nervous system to shut down.

Anyone who has been poisoned by the cobra will feel pain, swelling, irritation, vomiting, and diarrhea. In the next few hours, a heavy fever would occur, as well as respiratory difficulty.

Dr. Salina Locke, a veterinarian with Avian and Exotic Animal Care, treats an array of animals.

Cobras of this species do not bite. She said they are more likely to spray their venom . they are very precise and go straight for the eyes.

Due to its dangers, Locke advises against keeping this snake as a pet.

Sleeping is when most bites occur. Researchers found that bit individuals could suffer health issues for years to come.

There was a police search of a home near 6917 Chamonix Place where a cobra was last observed on Tuesday afternoon.

In March, the police visited that residence four times for an animal issue. They returned on Monday and Tuesday after the zebra cobra was discovered on a porch about a half mile away.

The records of county government indicate that Keith and Rebecca Gifford reside at this address. On a Facebook page associated with Keith Gifford's name, he posts photos of snakes owned by his son, Christopher.

The TikTok account of Christopher Gifford has over 460000 followers. His post claims he has a zebra cobra that is 7 feet long.
