Despite the efforts of animal control officers and law enforcement, a venomous zebra cobra was captured on Wednesday night by a glue trap, capping a 48-hour case involving North Carolina media.
A red bucket was used to place the cobra in the bucket and to transport it to a location where all glue could be removed.
Earlier in the day, WRAL's cameras caught the snake crawling out of a siding onto a porch on Sandringham Drive. When it lifted its head to look around, its hood was visible.

North Carolina, Raleigh Following hours of consultation and preparation by police and animal control officers, a venomous zebra cobra was caught with a glue trap on a Raleigh porch Wednesday night, capping a 48-hour saga that attracted national attention.
As the cobra was guided into the bucket, it was taken to a safe area where the glue on its body could be removed completely.
The WRAL cameras captured the striped snake crawling out of the siding of a Sandringham Drive house, onto the front porch. When it lifted its head to look around, the top of its hood was visible.
After confirming it was a snake, Animal Control officers moved the camera crews back of the area and attempted to capture it there.
On Tuesday, police searched the same home after receiving a 911 call there.

Joan Nelson said she was relieved the ordeal was over.
My feeling of security has improved, she said. After this experience, I feel like I can go outside, walk on the deck, or even go for a jog. Despite this, I feel sorry for the snake.
A zebra cobra has been missing from a north Raleigh neighborhood where this stunted snake is seen.
The snake, a zebra cobra, can spit up to 9 feet and is faster than most snakes, making even a morning walk with the dog scary. Consequently, the African Snakebite Institute says the snake is very dangerous. An animal's venom could cause the victim's nervous system to shut down.
Anyone who has been poisoned by the cobra will feel pain, swelling, irritation, vomiting, and diarrhea. A severe fever and breathing issues could cause respiratory failure.
An experienced veterinarian, Dr. Salina Locke, treats all kinds of pets at the Avian and Exotic Animal Care.
The cobra species in this group doesn't typically bite. The venom from them, she said, is typically sprayed. She said they are extremely accurate and shoot straight for the eyes.
Despite the risks involved, Locke does not recommend keeping this snake as a pet.
During sleep, most bites occur. Research indicates people who are bit can suffer health issues for a long time.
Tuesday afternoon, police searched a home at 6917 Chamonix Place, near the last location where the cobra was spotted.
A police officer visited that home four times in March for an animal issue. Following the zebra cobra's spotting on a porch a half mile away, they returned on Monday and Tuesday.
The county records indicate that Keith and Rebecca Gifford live at this address. The Facebook page containing Keith Gifford's name contains several photos of snakes that he claims to own.
On his TikTok account, Christopher Gifford has more than 460000 followers. In one of his posts, he claims to have a 7-foot-long zebra cobra.
