A Brief History Of Keno
Keno is a gambling card game that involves stacks of cards (cards), of different numbers, stacked in rows, typically from one to eighty. A player marks off or circles up to the allowed maximum, then hands in, or counters, his card to be counted, and pays depending on how many numbers were chosen... then all the players who didn't play a card are the new cards. The point system works as follows: the winner receives all the cards face-up, the loser must turn two cards and the third card may be either a "low" or "high card." If you have five cards and need to count them, the winner will get a lower card. The loser will have to return three cards.

Keno was a Japanese game that was developed about six hundred years ago and was adopted by the Chinese. They quickly took it up as a game of gambling and it was only a matter time before it made it to Europe. It was then brought to America, where it was called "Whale" Keno. This was due to the fact the winning player would often take every single number he won. Whales are powerful creatures, so it was able do well in this industry.
