William Chester Babbitt {Went By Bill}
Born January 18, 1949 In Philadelphia, PA. To Francesca Babbitt {Del Piano} And Chester Babbitt. Bill Was Raised In The Catholic Church An Italian South Philly Boy!! He Passed Away Peacefully On Wednesday December 1, 2021 After An Extended Illness. Bill Lived In Philadelphia, PA. Until Moving To Florida With His Wife Joyce On August 14, 2017. They Would Have Celebrated Their Sixth Wedding Anniversary On January 1, 2022. He Met His Wife Joyce In July 2014 And The Very First Words Out Of His Mouth Was "LOOK THE LORD HAS SENT ME A ANGEL"!! Bill Graduated In 1968 From Bishop Newman High School For Boys. Then Bill Joined The Army April 16, 1969 Then Off To Vietnam And Was A Gunner On A Tank. He Was Released November 12, 1970 With An Honorable Discharge. After Returning Home From The Service He Did Odd Jobs Until He Was Hired On With Boeing In Ridley, PA. Bill Somewhat Was A Homebody And Did Not Like Change. He Was Never Much Of An Outdoor Kind Of Guy When It Came To Working In The Yard. Bill Was The Most Sweetest, Kind Gentleman That You Could Ever Meet And Would Go Out Of HIs Way To Help Anyone. He Was Shy, Soft Spoken And Was A Man Of Few Words. If You Started A Conversation About Cars He Was Ready To Start
Talking!! He Loved When Christmas Came Around, Because He Knew That Meant He Would Be Getting A New Hess Truck To Add To His Collection. He Had A Passionate Love Of Cars!! He Enjoyed The Car Shows And Bringing Home The Trophies!! He Loved Playing His Bongo Drums!! Enjoyed Collecting Coins And Going To Auctions. Bill Took Great Pride In Wearing His Vietnam Hat. His Face Would Light Up When Someone Would Thank Him For His Service. Joyce Always Called Him Her Hero. Bill Was Preceded In Death By His Father Chester Babbitt And His Mother Francesca {Del Piano}. Bill Is Survived By His Wife Joyce Babbitt, Brother Robert Babbitt, Half Sister Linda Thomas, Daughter Cynthia Cafarella, Three Grandchildren And A Great-Grandchild. Bill Also Leaves Behind Nine Step Children, Twenty Step Grandchildren, And Seventeen Step Great-Grandchildren. They All Called Him Pop Pop Bill!! Bill Loved His Entire Family And Friends Very Much. He Will Be Missed By All. Forever In Our Hearts!! God Bless....
