JUPITER — Jupiter residents will choose between three candidates when they elect a new mayor in March.
In all, there will be more than a dozen candidates in four races in Jupiter and Juno Beach slated for March 8.
In Jupiter, Town Manager Matt Benoit resigned in October after members of the Jupiter Police Department and the union that represents them called for his ouster. The new town council and mayor will shepherd the hiring of a new town manager.
Also on the council's docket is a settlement agreement with Harbourside Place and a looming $133 million project that will replace the U.S. 1 bridge over the Loxahatchee River and close the bridge for 20 months.

Nearby, Juno Beach will elect a new town council member who will replace Vice Mayor Jim Lyons. The two men running for the spot have made their presence known at public meetings and been vocal in opposition to the development they say threatens Juno Beach's small-town feel.
And Jupiter Elections of Jupiter in Tequesta, three seats on the village council will be filled without a formal election because no one filed to run against the two incumbents and one newcomer who filed ahead of the November deadline.
