5 edelweis jawa bunganya tak pernah layu Tanaman ini dapat tumbuh dengan ketinggian 8 meter, dan memiliki batang sebesar kaki manusia, pada umumnya tingginya tidak lebh dari 1 meter. Edelweiss jawa termasuk tanaman endemic dan langka, berbentuk semak dengan bungan yang berumpun.
-edelweiss eropa Daun dan bunganya ditutupi bulu-bulu putih seperti wool. Tangkai bunga edelweiss dapat tumbuh dari ukuran 3-20 cm menjadi 40 cm. Masing-masing bunga terdiri dari 5-6 kepala bunga kuning kecil (5mm), dikelilingi oleh daun-daun muda menjadi bentuk bintang. Bunga ini akan berkembang antara bulan Juli-September. Tumbuhan ini penyebarannya bervariasi, akan tetapi lebih sering dijumpai di daerah berbatu dengan ketinggian 2000-2900 m.
