There has been much discussion about the legality and legitimacy of downloading Youtube videos to convert to offline files that can be stored on your computer. I have been watching and following the major developments that has seen some online converters for mp3 are being scrutinized and brought to court for aiding users across the globe however, I would like to tell you the details of my own personal story. Although I'm not recommending that anyone does what I do (or anything like it), I see no harm in doing what I do. I can think there is a benefit to "DVRing” videos on Youtube so I can watch them later.
I am the benefit. I was able to complete my Bachelors college degree in 3 years working during the night, on a part-time basis and mostly online, and all while doing two full-time jobs in order to provide for my family. This is not talking about Devry or other well-known web-based schools. I went to my college and was not offered any particular programs. I received the same treatment as other students and paid the same amount.
My work was mostly sitting and walking around the premises looking for signs of safety. You are correct. It was a glorified security patrol job. I was left with plenty of time, so I started bringing books and other reading materials to work. Funny thing, online schools are open 24 hours a day, so I could work on my projects and send them to professor at 3 o'clock in the morning. I later realized that the majority of those lectures were posted on Youtube, Vimeo, and covered under specific titles that did not invite visitors to walk through. https://keepvid.cyou/ Only those with access URLs knew what it was.
I copied those videos onto my laptop, and then headed off to work. Internet was extremely slow due to the distant locations of my work sites. I therefore had to copy all of those videos onto my laptop in order to study properly. Copy the Youtube URL into your laptop's memory, navigate to the converter website, copy the URL and then wait for a few minutes. It would then give me numerous options for downloading. The options were separated by file size and audio. I could also convert YouTube video into mp3 files, or continue until Mp4 conversion shows up with other video mp4 file downloading options.
I was able to save my lectures on my laptop that allowed me to get the most out of the grid. Now here I am, having graduated as a Bachelor in IT averagely 2 semesters quicker than most people. I hope my next job offers me the chance to continue to learn. It's very rewarding.
