Keepvid is an excellent case. Keepvid offered a website with an exclusive software bundle that included Youtube video downloader. All copies, including lifetime licenses disappeared in just a few weeks. It happens because software requires regular updates. Youtube is able to alter their content's delivery at any time, so the software should be kept up-to-date.
