The venomous zebra cobra found in north Raleigh is trapped by a glue trap.
Following many hours of consultation and preparation by officers from Raleigh police and animal control, the glue trap finally caught a venomous zebra cobra on the porch of a home in north Raleigh on Wednesday night, a 48-hour incident that generated nationwide interest.
We guided the cobra into a red bucket and took it to a safe location so that we could fully remove the glue from its body.
At youtube.com, a striped snake crawled out of the siding of a house on Sandringham Drive onto the front porch of a home earlier in the day. While raising its head to take a look around, its hood was visible.
Before moving in to capture the snake, Animal Control officers moved camera crews to the back.
911 call from that same home sparked the search in the early morning Tuesday.

ARLINGTON, N.C. Following a 48-hour saga that garnered attention from across North Carolina, a glue trap captured a venomous zebra cobra on a north Raleigh porch on Wednesday, highlighting the nearly 48-hour ordeal across North Carolina.
The cobra was guided into a red bucket and taken to a safe location so the glue could be completely removed.
WRAL's cameras caught the snake the previous day crawling onto the porch of a house on Sandringham Drive. As it lifted its head, the hood was visible.
Camera crews were moved back after the officers confirmed it was the snake before attempting to catch it.
On Tuesday, police searched the same home after receiving a 911 call there.

Joan Nelson said she was relieved that the ordeal was over.
'I feel very safe now,' she said. After spending time on my deck, I feel like I can go outside now. Despite that, I feel terrible for the snake.
There is a striped snake in the yard of a north Raleigh neighborhood where a zebra cobra has gone missing.
The snake, a zebra cobra, is extremely fast and can spit up to nine feet away, making a walk with the dog even scarier. In the opinion of the African Snakebite Institute, snakes are very dangerous. A victim's nervous system might shut down upon ingestion of the venom.
One who is poisoned by the cobra would immediately feel pain, swelling, irritation, vomiting, and diarrhea. Afterward, a fever and breathing problems would result, possibly resulting in respiratory failure.
Dr. Salina Locke, a veterinarian at Avian and Exotic Animal Care, treats all kinds of animals.
The cobra species in this group doesn't typically bite. Generally, they squirt their venom a lot and shoot straight for the eyes, she said.
Due to its dangers, Locke advises against keeping this snake as a pet.
During sleep, most bites occur. A bit could cause health issues for years, research shows.
Tuesday afternoon, police searched a home at 6917 Chamonix Place, near the last location where the cobra was spotted.
In March, police visited the home four times because of an animal problem. Following the zebra cobra's spotting on a porch a half mile away, they returned on Monday and Tuesday.
There are records in the county that indicate Keith and Rebecca Gifford reside at that address. In a Facebook profile associated with Keith Gifford's name, there are several pictures of snakes he says his son Christopher owns.
Christopher Gifford has 460000 followers on TikTok. One of his posts claims that he owns a 7-foot zebra cobra.
