Glue trap in Raleigh ends daylong search for venomous zebra cobra.
Following many hours of consultation and preparation by Animal Control officers, law enforcement and animal control officers trapped the venomous snake on a north Raleigh porch Wednesday night, a 48-hour incident that generated nationwide interest.
A red bucket was used to guide the cobra into a safe location where all glue could be removed from its body.
An earlier image captured by WRAL show the snake scrabbling to the front porch of a house on Sandringham Drive, crawling through the siding. When it lifted its head to look around, its hood was visible.
The Wildlife Control officers moved camera crews back after confirming that this is the snake, then went in to attempt to capture it.
911 call from that same house sparked the search at the beginning of Tuesday.

Her neighbor Joan Nelson expressed relief at the end of the ordeal.
She said she felt safe and really happy. After spending time on my deck, I feel like I can go outside now. The snake, however, was in a terrible position.
The snake in question was found laying out on a porch in a north Raleigh neighborhood where a zebra cobra had been reported missing.
Zebra cobras are fast, can spit up to nine feet, and can spit at high speeds, making even morning dog walks dangerous. African Snakebite Institute has described the snake as very dangerous. Venom can cause the nervous system to shut down in victims.
Those stung by the poison would experience severe pain, swelling, rashes, nausea, and diarrhea as a result. Afterward, a fever and breathing problems would result, possibly resulting in respiratory failure.
An experienced veterinarian, Dr. Salina Locke, treats all kinds of pets at the Avian and Exotic Animal Care.
The cobras in this species are not typically biting. The venom sprays more readily, since it is so accurate. they aim right for the eyes, she said.
She is not recommending it for pets, due to its risks.
Sleeping people are more likely to be bitten. Health problems can linger for years for people who are bit, according to research.
During a search on Tuesday afternoon, police searched the home on 6917 Chamonix Place, near where the cobra was last seen.
In March, there was an issue with the animals at that home. The zebra cobra was spotted on a porch a half mile away on Monday and Tuesday.
The county records show that Keith and Rebecca Gifford live at that address. The Facebook page containing Keith Gifford's name contains several photos of snakes that he claims to own.
On TikTok, Christopher Gifford has over 460000 followers. He claims to have a zebra cobra seven feet long on one of his posts.
