African American Paradox: Do Black lives matter to black people

The African American paradox is a compilation of paradoxes and many contradictions. Black American History is an anomaly of the highest magnitude.

<br>This book is not about Bill Cosby. Bill Cosby's profound comments contained in his speech declaring that poor black people were to blame for the lack of progress toward the goal of social equality is a partial framework of thought that conjures up conversation, conflict, confusion, debate that will hopefully affect action and meaningful change.
<br>
<br>Each chapter is a cluster of cultural history, social challenges we face as a race, the politics of race, flawed belief systems, collections of evidence that support and oppose a premise that asks the question: “Does black Lives Matter to Black People”? Read This is replete with insightful but radical commentary. The author is not a public intellectual, professor, academic or scholar. Black America has reached the level of crisis status. We are experiencing an intellectual, moral and cultural eclipse. Black consciousness has been impeded by an intercepting force that has modified the spiritual component of our belief system. Dark energy forces are misguiding Black America's most valuable asset, it’s youth.

<br>Black on Black violence has reached epic proportions. It is easier for an 18 year old to acquire an AK-47 assault rifle than a pre-owned automobile. Black Men between the ages of 18 and 40 years old, are eighty percent more likely to be murdered by another black male. On the other hand, black males represent more than fifty percent of the U.S. Prison population. Black males are sentenced disproportionately higher than their white counterparts.

<br>Despite our many differences as black people, we must at least reach a collective covenant that we all have to become unified in the name of progress. We cannot afford to perpetuate the debilitating mind-set that has set us on a course of self-destruction. Black unification does not mean non-association with other races. My connections with people are defined by their moral substance. I may have more in common with Elon Musk than I do with Michael Jordan, and I have the right to say so. This does not discredit me or undermine my blackness in any way. We have to bring an end to shaming one another. Shame messaging has been a huge impediment to black innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship and self-image. Promoting aspersions against someone out of jealousy and dislike is equivalent to systemic racism. Black people are too often oppressors of one another.

<br>I know that you will enjoy reading this book. It is my hope to arouse your awareness and re-align the chant that “Black Lives Matter” to accurately reflect our actual actions being conducive to demonstrating that we believe, “Black Lives Matter”. When Black Lives really start to matter to Black people, the entire world will notice, subsequently, “Black Lives Matter” will matter to the world.
