Traveling with children is challenging. It's not possible to trust the internet to climb an mountain. I would rather prepare at home.

It's true, I was saying.. My children believe the WiFi at the highest point of the mountain is a source of weak signals. Even though it's not huge, the hill is not out of the range of mobile networks. My children must search for better internet connectivity while my wife and I set up small camping sites. We're hoping to stay for at most a day. The small brook is close by and supplies water to our camp. It's true.. Our wife cannot go camping without having plenty of water. Therefore, we always have our own.

My kids are back on social media while I'm admiring the view. While I really appreciate these trips but it's not my plan to start them. My wife is the one who insists on it possibly because she understands the joy I feel when I am out there in the wild. My kids are different. Internet is sometimes unavailable. Sometimes, something in the clouds or magnetic movements can interrupt the streaming song for a short period of time before it resumes. It is annoying to me, even although it happens frequently.

We made the choice to prepare after experiencing a few frustrating travels without internet where the standard internet service on our phones wasn't working properly. We, which includes my wife and I, decided to plan for the eventuality when our kids will not have internet for more then 10 minutes. So, we made 2 entertainment options that can be used when Internet isn't readily available during camping trips. Another device was a tablet containing music videos as well as the most popular songs on the charts. The best Youtube MP3 converter made it possible to extract songs from videos and convert them to MP3 files, which we could then download to our tablet. It also was able to work with playlists so it was extremely fast, despite it sounding terrible. The second tablet had a lot of cartoons and TV shows that were downloaded via Hulu, Netflix and other apps. This allows for offline storage, which allows you to save videos to watch later. This isn't the top quality, but it is the way it is. There are many seasons of Breaking Bad, as well as many cartoons like Family Guy or Disenchantment. It's a lot of fun. Additionally, it was simple. All you needed to do was download the apps and enable downloading for offline viewing. After you've downloaded episodes you can mark them as ready to download and put them away. Tablet 2 came just a couple of times after tablet 1. It was available when we arrived at The Wild. My kids couldn't stop using it and watching their favorite shows. There were some DIY videos that I added to the collection, such as making the tent and the skinning of fresh fish. These are the things that you won't perform at home. These videos were downloaded from Youtube then converted to MP4 and saved to my tablet. It's much easier to watch videos on your tablet while you're working.

These two tricks have kept my children entertained on four camping trips with the family. They're not afraid of leaving the house any more because they know that tablets 2 can help them get through boring downtime and will bring it back home when they're prepared. It's all I ever wanted, and I have never felt happier.
