Thai massage is a renowned therapy that combines physical acupressure with Indian Ayurvedic techniques, and guided yoga postures. "Thai massage" was the first to use Shen lines (assymphra line). These lines are similar to nadis in relation to the basic philosophies of yoga as per the ancient Hindu tradition. The energy flow from the body's points to particular organ or a specific point of the body. The energy flow that flows through these lines is called as yin and Yang. These same energy flows are used in yoga to aid in meditation and healing.
Thai massage is widely used for health benefits due to its many stretching movements. It enhances the function of the lymphatic system. It helps improve digestion and circulation. These stretching movements to loosen the muscles of the body and hence opens up the blocked energy pathways within the body. This increases circulation of blood, which is a major factor in delivering oxygen and nutrients to various parts of the body thus promoting a healthier skin, well-controlled blood pressure, a strengthened immune system , and a calm mental state.
In Thailand, massage therapists are expected to have graduated from a minimum of six years' training. Massage therapists that wish to further their education can enroll for up to four years of further training at a reputable Thai massage school or private therapist. Usually the courses take between one and two years of training, depending on the type of course. Two and four-year programs are also available.
In Thai massage, the therapist uses the traditional yoga-like stretches and deep-tissue massage techniques. The individual's health condition could dictate the number or amount of techniques the instructor employs. The Thai massage therapist will advise clients about breathing techniques, relaxation techniques and meditation techniques along with postures and self-massage. A Thai massage begins with the client feeling muscles being stretched. Then the client will feel the tender pulling, tear or relaxation of the tendons and skin.
The initial rubbing of the muscles is done in a prayer-like way also known as a ma. This process is known as white flame or yin Yang. The next movement is known as cleansing the body. The trainer will gradually tighten muscles and apply pressures to the area affected.
Like Chinese traditional medicine, Thai massage incorporates acupuncture herbs, massage oil, and gels specially formulated for the treatment. These products are made with specific ingredients and are carefully checked to make sure they do not create any negative reactions. Only quality products are used by massage therapists that are members of an accredited institute. In the western world it isn't always easy to find top-quality Thai massage therapy products. In Thailand, massage therapists are highly educated and they follow strict codes of conduct to make sure that their customers do not suffer any problems after their sessions.
This type of massage utilizes static pressure to the muscles for a set duration. This could take anywhere from ten seconds up to a half-hour. It is also possible to do this in a rolling manner. Rolling is a common aspect of Thai massage which involves stretching the spine and the flexibility of the joints.
Stretching joints between the ribs the clavicle and torso is essential. It is important to stretch because it facilitates the movement of joints. Thai massages could include many stretching techniques, such as walking, stretching, lunges, stretching, hanging the stretching, stretching stretching as well as stretching.
