A glue trap seals weeks of searching for a venomous zebra cobra in north Raleigh.

Raleigh is a North Carolina city. Despite hours of preparation by animal control and law enforcement officers, a glue trap captured a venomous zebra cobra on a north Raleigh porch on Wednesday, bowing out a nearly 48-hour ordeal that gained national attention.

Glue was removed from the cobra's body by placing it in a red bucket and moving it to a safe location.

A striped snake was spotted earlier in the day crawling out of the siding of a house on Sandringham Drive, onto the front porch of a house. Looking around, its hood was visible as it lifted its head.

After confirming it was a snake, Animal Control officers moved the camera crews back of the area and attempted to capture it there.

On Tuesday, police searched the same home after receiving a 911 call there.

The records of county government indicate that Keith and Rebecca Gifford reside at this address. A Facebook account associated with Keith Gifford shows several photos of snakes that Christopher Gifford also owns.

Christopher Gifford has over 460000 followers on his TikTok account. One of his posts claims that he owns a 7-foot zebra cobra.
