The venomous zebra cobra found in north Raleigh is trapped by a glue trap.
Despite the consultation and preparation by animal control officers, a venomous zebra cobra was caught with a glue trap on a north Raleigh porch on Wednesday, a 48-hour incident that generated nationwide interest.
The glue was removed from the cobra's body by putting it in a red bucket and transporting it to a safe location.
A striped snake was spotted earlier in the day crawling out of the siding of a house on Sandringham Drive, onto the front porch of a house. Lifting its head, it was able to see its hood.
After confirming it was the snake, Animal Control officers moved the camera crews back before moving in to capture it.
911 call from that same house sparked the search at the beginning of Tuesday.

N.C., and Raleigh, N.C. Following hours of consultation and preparation by Raleigh police and animal control officers, a venomous zebra cobra was captured on a north Raleigh porch on Wednesday night, capping an incident that drew widespread attention.
As the glue was slowly removed from the cobra's body, it was placed into a red bucket and taken to a safe location.
A striped snake was captured by WRAL cameras crawling onto a front porch on Sandringham Drive earlier in the day. Looking around, its hood was visible as it lifted its head.
Before moving in to capture the snake, Animal Control officers moved camera crews to the back.
The search was sparked by a 911 call from the same home early Tuesday.

The ordeal has ended, said Joan Nelson, her neighbor.
I feel much safer and I am really happy, she said. After this experience, I feel like I can go outside, walk on the deck, or even go for a jog. It's very sad for the snake, though.

Snakes can spit up to nine feet and are faster than most snakes. A morning dog walk turns into a dangerous event when the snake spits this wide. The African Snakebite Institute reports that this snake is very dangerous. As a result of the venom, a victim's nervous system could shut down.
An individual hit by the snake's poison would feel immediate pain, swelling, irritation, vomiting, and diarrhea. In the next few hours, a heavy fever would occur, as well as respiratory difficulty.
A veterinarian at Avian and Exotic Animal Care, Salina Locke, treats all sorts of animals there.
The species of cobras that are found in this area do not bite. Venom is more likely to be sprayed by them, since their venom hits straight for the eye since they are so accurate.
According to Locke, this snake is not suitable for keeping as a pet.
During sleep, most bites occur. Bite victims may suffer health problems for years, research reveals.
In the afternoon of Tuesday, police searched a home near the street where the cobra was last spotted, at 6917 Chamonix Place.
An animal problem led to four police visits in March. They returned Monday and Tuesday after seeing the zebra cobra on a porch about a half mile away.
The county records show that Keith and Rebecca Gifford live at that address. His Facebook account shows several pictures of snakes he claims are owned by his son, Christopher, according to the account.
His TikTok account has more than 460000 followers. On one of his posts, he claims to own a 7-foot zebra cobra.
