Mondays meeting:

1) I think that the staff in base definitely need more training about mental disabilities, as whenever I get into situations where I panic and have bad anxiety issues it is never "taken seriously", or dealt with professionally, it just feels like they don't know what to do with me when these sort of things happen. Especially since most of them are not used to me acting like that, as I am normally a happy bubbly person in most peoples eyes.

2) I also think that there should be more communication around base. This is because almost every time I am in base someone asks me if I'm "allowed" in there, especially for the maths lesson that I don't attend, I understand this as I know that there are people who just come to base to get out of lessons, but obviously it does sting a bit to be constantly questioned about it. This makes feels like I'm not allowed or wanted there, which I know I am but it doesn't feel like it in the moment especially when I'm already stressed or thinking about bigger things

3) another major thing that plays on my mind is the whole "System" argument. As you might already know there was a situation the other day that did upset me quite a bit and the excuse used a lot was that it was "just the new system". I feel like whenever the "new system" is mentioned that my needs are thrown out the window just because its a new term. Just because it a new term and the system is different doesn't mean that me or my needs have changed or gotten any better so just expecting me to go to every lesson you tell me I need to attend isn't helping me in the slightest, just making me more stressed.

4) another thing I find very discomforting is that over my past two years at Bushey meads there has been so many changes in base, good and bad but as you already know I find change hard anyway, this is one of the main reasons I find it hard to come back to school after the holidays, half terms and sometimes even inset days because I don't know what to expect once I come into school, whether it will be the same or if everything has changed.

new teachers in base- they don't know me at all, how would they they've never met me , but as we have discussed before I am very different on the inside than I am on the outside. so new teachers that haven't dealt with me in an anxious state they don't know what to do, how to help me, and probably weren't expecting it from me. This ties to my reasoning of why I feel the TA's need more training about mental health and how to deal with it especially autism as there is many different ways and things to know about it before anything actually helps us.
