1. About Bhimtal Lake (place intro)

Bhimtal Lake is a lake in the town of Bhimtal Situated in Kumaon, with a masonry dam built in 1883 creating the storage facility. It is the largest lake in Nainital district which is also known as the "Lake district of India". It is also the largest lake of Kumaon. The lake provides drinking water supply and supports aquaculture with variety of fish species. There is an island at the centre of the lake which has been developed as a tourist attraction and has an aquarium. It is also the largest lake in Kumaon.

2. History Of Bhimtal Lake (history about it)

The town and the lake are named after Bhima, one of the Pandavas of the epic story of Mahabharata who is said to have visited the place. On the banks of the dam of Bhimtal there is an old temple which was built by Raja Baj Bahadur Chand of Kumaon Kingdom during the 17th century.

3. Why Should We Visit Bhimtal Lake? (why should we visit it?)

Bhimtal Lake is a magnanimous water body, where you can spend time to your heart’s content, also Bhimtal is much liked for the spotted paths, wild raspberries, scenic terraced fields dotted with farmhouses and trees bearing citrus fruits! and the best part is that there is A folk culture museum in Bhimtal too!, which houses an attractive array of artefacts, rock art and wealth of knowledge about the various hill stations of Uttarakhand.

There are Many Things to do in Bhimtal Lake as its a Wonderful place for boating and fishing activities, and is surrounded by dense woods and small creeks at the edge of the lake shore, and if its not enough then There are more sites at Bhimtal that would please lovers of outdoor activities and nature’s wonders

Bhimtal has quite a few restaurants and eating joints which offer multi-cuisines ranging from Chinese, continental to the scrumptious Indian cuisine – both North Indian and South Indian Food
