North Carolina, Raleigh Despite hours of preparation by animal control and law enforcement officers, a glue trap captured a venomous zebra cobra on a north Raleigh porch on Wednesday, capping an incident that drew widespread attention.
A red bucket was used to guide the cobra into a safe location so that the glue could be removed from its body completely.

After confirming it was the snake, Animal Control officers moved the camera crews back before moving in to capture it.
Early Tuesday, early Tuesday morning, a 911 call from inside the same house sparked the search.

Her neighbor Joan Nelson expressed relief at the end of the ordeal.
She said she felt safe and really happy. Now that I can go outside, I can walk on my deck and go outside. The snake, though, must have felt bad.

Even a morning walk with your dog becomes dangerous due to the snake's ability to spit up to nine feet and be as fast as a zebra cobra. Consequently, the African Snakebite Institute says the snake is very dangerous. An animal's venom could cause the victim's nervous system to shut down.
One would feel immediate pain, swelling, irritation, vomiting and diarrhea if stung by a cobra's poison. A severe fever and breathing issues could cause respiratory failure.
Veterinary specialist Salina Locke treats all kinds of pets at Avian and Exotic Animal Care in Nashville, Tennessee.
Cobras typically do not bite. They spray their venom more often -- they're very accurate, she said.
Due to its dangers, Locke advises against keeping this snake as a pet.
Bite incidents are most common during sleep. The effects of being bitten may last for years, according to research.
There was a police search of a home near 6917 Chamonix Place where a cobra was last observed on Tuesday afternoon.
In March, police visited the home four times because of an animal problem. They returned on Monday and Tuesday after the zebra cobra was discovered on a porch about a half mile away.
The county records indicate that Keith and Rebecca Gifford live at this address. His Facebook account shows several pictures of snakes he claims are owned by his son, Christopher, according to the account.
Christopher Gifford has more than 460000 followers on TikTok. One of his posts claims that he owns a 7-foot zebra cobra.
