North Raleigh venomous zebra cobra hunt is over after glue trap takes care of the problem.
Despite the consultation and preparation by animal control officers, a glue trap was ultimately deployed to capture a venomous zebra cobra on a north Raleigh porch on Wednesday, capping a 48-hour case involving North Carolina media.
A red bucket was used to place the cobra in the bucket and to transport it to a location where all glue could be removed.
Earlier in the day, WRAL's cameras caught the snake crawling out of a siding onto a porch on Sandringham Drive. Looking around, its hood was visible as it lifted its head.
Officers from Animal Control moved the cameras back after confirming that it was the snake, trying to capture it before moving in.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. Following hours of consultation and preparation by Raleigh police and animal control officers, a venomous zebra cobra was captured with a glue trap on a north Raleigh porch Wednesday night, bowing out a nearly 48-hour ordeal that gained national attention.
As soon as the cobra was guided into the red bucket, it was moved to a safe location where the glue could be fully removed.
At youtube.com, a striped snake crawled out of the siding of a house on Sandringham Drive onto the front porch of a home earlier in the day. A hood was visible wherever it turned its head.
Camera crews were moved back after the officers confirmed it was the snake before attempting to catch it.
The search was sparked by a 911 call from the same home early Tuesday.

Joan Nelson said she was relieved that the ordeal was over.
My feeling of security has improved, she said. My deck and I have become more comfortable outside now. Despite that, I feel terrible for the snake.
There has been a missing zebra cobra in a north Raleigh neighborhood where a striped snake is laying out on a porch.
Even a morning walk with your dog becomes dangerous due to the snake's ability to spit up to nine feet and be as fast as a zebra cobra. It is a very dangerous snake according to the African Snakebite Institute. A victim's nervous system could shut down if stung with venom.
One who is poisoned by the cobra would immediately feel pain, swelling, irritation, vomiting, and diarrhea. In the next few hours, a heavy fever would occur, as well as respiratory difficulty.
Dr. Salina Locke, a veterinarian with Avian and Exotic Animal Care, treats an array of animals.
Cobras typically do not bite. The venom is more likely to spray because they are very accurate and go straight for the eye, she said.
Despite the risks involved, Locke does not recommend keeping this snake as a pet.
Most bites occur while people are sleeping. A bit could cause health issues for years, research shows.
Tuesday afternoon, police searched a home at 6917 Chamonix Place, near the last location where the cobra was spotted.
Four officers were dispatched to that home for an animal issue in March. Zebra cobras were seen on a porch a half mile away on Monday and Tuesday, after this was initially reported.
At that address, Keith and Rebecca Gifford inhabit the house, according to county records. A Facebook account associated with Keith Giffords shows several photos of snakes, which he identifies as being his son's, Christopher.
His TikTok account has more than 460000 followers. In one of his posts, he claims to have a 7-foot-long zebra cobra.
