In 2015, the government of Somali approved and uplifted the UNCRC movement in a way of supporting the children rights act. "every child has the right to be protected from mistreatment, neglect, abuse, or degradation." says Fartuun Adan, former executive director of the children's right-center, though in a way are children really protected in Somali?

The human rights declaration states "The sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography, The involvement in armed conflict,
A communications procedure which allows children whose rights have been violated to complain to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child." Though Somali neglects all of the standard procedures to a safer future for our children. Somali proves its mishandlement by allowing both child trafficking, child labor, sexual exploitation forced military work, and leaves the children with nobody to go to with no control over what happens next.

Its been recorded that over 49 percent of children living in Somali have experienced or are currently at work over labor, with most of the working conditions being dangerous with
violent and unethical workforces and wages while so many children are not even paid for their work while most are under the age of 14.

The situation gets even worse as CHILDREN are forced into marriage at the little age of 10 which ranges throughout the region.
Over 700,000 children have been enslaved to child marriage in the middle east and north Africa including Somalia, children with less education and those who live in rural areas are targeted the most for marriage while 1 out of 5 girls has been married before their 18th birthday in Somali.

Children are not given a voice to stand for or hope to believe in, this disregards a child's need for help which Somali ignores, and at such a young age a child has no protection or chance to get out of a traumatic situation. These common basic rights are neglected, leaving children in extreme poverty, loneliness, and depression which can lead to severe disorders and PTSD.
Somali is home to being the 3rd most poorest country in the world, leaving many children sick, the poverty itself has been stated as being rooted towards civil conflict, lack of recourses, and no active governmental control. The region faces a lack of stimulation as their food and water supplies lowers but the weather dangers rise as their lands flood.

Somali cotinues to ignore the pain and suffering these children face but why? The country itself is in deep dephs of poverty, ranging from hunger threats and lack of recourses all together. Child labor in the region is stated as "helping the community" by forcing children into mines, doing intense farm work and working in dirty factories. "children are being used as the backbone of our community" states a news reporter.
