Diakon Harvey Oduweiju, more commonly known as Ten Drums, spins a comfortable, all-encompassing yarn on "578", the lead single from his incoming 3rd full-length project, "The Gambler".
Based around hypnotic grooves, slowly shifting and warping like ones fortune and another's fate, "578" envelopes its near 8 minute run-time, exuding a sensual urgency that forms its own selfless equilibrium.
Under his Ten Drums moniker, Diakon has crafted a fragile aesthetic, one that is free-form yet consistently swelling, humble yet still managing to act as a mouthpiece for the thin blurred line between the dance-floor and the street, the emotional and the physical.
At its core, "578" is Diakon at his most visceral, yet he downplays the hedonism of his earlier works in favour of a brooding, insistent call to the masses - a techno-house fusion that uses motif as mentor-ship, creating a perfect juxtaposition - weightlessness in pursuance of heavy, unbound bodily liberation.
