Fletcher çocuktu ve Detroit sokaklarında arkadaşlarıyla futbol oynar, ip atlardı. İlk okul çağı geldiğinde babası onu Detroit devlet okuluna yazdırdı. Arkadaşları okuma-yazmayı öğrendiğinde Fletcher henüz harfleri ezberliyordu eğitimle pek arası yoktu. Detroit'te o sıra soygunlar, uyuştucu ticaretleri yoğundu.
Fletcherin ilk okulu bitirdiği sene babası Alex'in bakkalını siyahi uyruklu iki soyguncu bastı ve soygun amaçlı silah çekti Alex parasını vermemek için onlara direnmeye çalıştı ve vuruldu. Haber evine iki üç saat sonra gitti Alex ameliyattaydı Marina hızlıca hazırlandı ve oğlu Fletcher'ide alarak Detroit devlet hastanesine yola çıktı. Ulaştıklarında Alex Glavoslav hayata gözlerini yummuştu, Fletcher olanları anlamıyordu ancak babasının olmadığını ve bir daha gelmeyeceğini anlamıştı. Aradan beş yada altı sene geçti. Fletcher 11 yaşlarındaydı orta okula başlamadı, zaten anneside karşı çıkacak durumda değildi delirmişti her gün kapıda Alex'i beklerdi. Zaman geçti ancak Fletcher'in içindeki intikam ateşi sönmedi daha çok dirildi ve bu Fletcher'i bir suç makinası haline getirdi.
Fletcher 19 yaşına gelmişti ve babasının yokluğunda kendisini sokaklardaki dostluklarına adamıştı bir çok dostu vardı, Fletcher babasının katillerini iyice araştırdı ve dostlarınıda çağırarak karanlık bir gece düşmanlarına mermi yağdırdı, iki tane siyahiyi öldürerek kayıplara karıştı. Fletcher geride iz bırakmamıştı ancak tedirgindi annesine veda ederek Los Santos'a yola çıktı.
