Chapter 4 RSVP

In this chapter Dewer gives a series of excersises to explore calling. Interesting he says "I have become to believe that basically the will of God goes with the grain of your being rather than across it".

Exodus 2.1-10
Moses being send down the river by his mother. Sister watching on and then is asked to bring a women act as a wet nurse - Moses real mum. This shows complete faith that God would protect her boy. She let him go in the faith that he would be ok. You need to give yourself to God and trust that he will protect you.

My Egypt. Where have I been? Where am I now? What has ground me down? What roles or expectations have felt like slavery? What parts of me are squashed, have no voice?

Childhood catholic school strong unchallenged faith. Family normal, move to Lincolnshire to nursing home. Freedom and death. Journeys to school slush puppies. Back to Bournemouth St Thomas Garnets Corpus Christi and then ST Peters. My parents were very committed and determined for us to have a catholic education.
Bullying smashed me down - terribly shy timid. Dyslexic but not diagnosed.

After that C and what happened there. Court system really felt like something from Kafka. The time spent writing statements and gathering evidence was too long. I had. no voice. God there through out. Prayer on repeat. Childhood church returned to most days to light a candle.
