ok so i had a super cool cyberpunk dream last night i totally felt like i was actually There
so i was at an arcade and they had these special games where you laid down and played the game. the cabinet was labeled "Cyberpunk 46" actually. so i laid down and put on the headset and i totally got transported into a totally real cyberpunk world. i was still lying down so i sat up and i was in a subway covered in graffiti and smeared food. there was a cafeteria and tables on one side and train tracks on the other. it all looked really abandoned, besides the restaurants. ok so i forget what happens in the next part but it was a chase of some sort. there were guns, there was me crashing into tables, and he-man? then i met these three dudes, one was female and two were male. one of the dudes who looked like a netrunner (i was actually one too) helped me up from when i had fallen during the chase and dusted me off. this is when i got a good look at what we all were wearing.
i was wearing a black leather jacket, and a pink and gray baseball tee, along with black and cyan pants with buckles and straps, kinda like raver pants. my new friends were dressed similarly, but the woman was wearing a long coat and looked kinda like Neo. the nonnetrunner looked like a scruffed up skater, he had a cyan and pink cropped hoodie and a gray shirt, with black pants. the netrunner that helped me up was wearing a black turtleneck, and a cape, with pink and cyan stripes on his arms and torso.
we then decided to get some grub, and we sat down with some not terribly appetizing fried chicken and cheesey tater tots or something potato like. we're just about finished when a dude, all broad and tall, mostly black clothes, comes up and is like "Pft, look at the raccoons eating garbage. what do you have there?" He's now standing right next to me. " Your Mom. " i say as i take a bite of this slimey greasey chicken (i could totally taste it). He scoffs and leaves us alone. i finish up my food and stand up to go after the guy. the rest of the team follows.
Now there's a timeskip, its implied ive spent quite a while here. We're in the same subway station when three new dudes come down the stairs. they look like they want a fight. The woman from my group comes forward and opens her mouth, "Shuddup!" one of the rough grunge looking new guys interrupts.
" We want this territory, and we're gonna get it. " and s fight ensues. Our skater bro falls pretty quickly, and our leader does too. I can see out of my peripherals that they've crawled together. not kissing or anything just helping stop the bleeding.
"come on, we have to go. you need to get to the top level of the elevator, so you can get out." the netrunner whispers to me. "I know you're a player character. I am too." and we rush through the subway. another chase i don't remember terribly well happens and eventually I make it to a safe place to "take the elevator" out of the game. i don't want to leave, but i have to, considering i could have almost just died.
i wake up outside the arcade, looking at the sign. the ocean roars around me. i rush back inside to try and get in the game again, when i get to the console and sit down, it fails to start up again. i look at the seat next to my own, and i see a boy, probably 16 or 17, strapped in and twitching, grimacing, before crying out and going limp. the headset on his head sparks and i try and take it off, its hot to the touch but i manage to slip it off his head.
i look under his eyelids and nothing moves, i shake him and it only ends up messing his hair, then he groans and takes a deep gasping breath, and his eyes flutter open.
