The Aztec people were a very good sculptor people since they could make sculptures of all sizes in which they reflected religious or nature themes. They captured the essence of what they wanted to represent and then carried out their works in detail.
In the largest sculptures they used to represent gods and kings. The smallest used them for representations of animals and common objects.
The Aztecs used stone and wood and sometimes decorated the sculptures with colored paint or precious stone inlays.
As for the goldsmith, due to their knowledge of physics, the Aztecs used various techniques such as melting gold with silver and others.
Normally the metal was combined with precious stones such as turquoise, amethyst, jade or rock crystal or with shells.
They also made all kinds of figures and decorations for their bodies such as bracelets, necklaces, earrings, etc.
Painting in the Aztec town appears to be linked to architecture. Color plays a fundamental role. It is a flat color, without shades or shades and, possibly, with symbolic connotations.
Another feature of Aztec art is the ornaments made with feathers, which had great importance in Central America. The most appreciated feathers were those of the quetzal (green), those of the tlauquecholli (red) and those of the xiuhtototl (turquoise blue). With these feathers they made tapestries and decorated blankets, ritual masks, shields or warrior costumes.

The sculpture has been one of the Aztec artistic representations that has been best preserved. Unlike other elements, such as metal pieces, the Europeans had no purpose in destroying them. Otherwise metals such as gold and silver were melted down to be converted into money in Europe.

Aztec paintings had a great deal of religious influence. This was reflected in the painted figures, which ranged from "physical" representations of deities to animals. They were believed to be part of the powers of the gods and their effect on nature.

The largest religious paintings have been found in temples and pyramids, as they were the architectural monuments most closely linked with religion.

The Aztec Empire is famous for many of its features including the amazing art and artistic objects that the Aztec people created. At its core, Aztec art was heavily influenced by the religious and cultural practices of the Aztec people. With that said, the Aztec religion and culture were based on earlier Mesoamerican civilizations, and thus Aztec art shared many similarities with the rest of Mesoamerica.

Symbolism was another important aspect of Aztec art. For instance, the natural world featured prominently in different pieces of Aztec art. Several common examples include: jaguars, frogs or toads, eagles, shells, serpents and more.

​Some of the most beautiful Aztec art that remains today are the different mosaics. These are often created with many small pieces of stone, shells or glass and generally depict different Aztec gods or important figures.
