Hi Finn,

Many thanks for a very interesting talk yesterday on Hangouts - only with some minor technical issues.

It goes without saying, that I think I would be perfect in this role, as I have done something very, very similar before.

So I know many of the big and small bumps in the road ahead.
Anything from early stage investment to venture capital foundation funding rounds.
Or from early stage local development to the final version scalable internationally.

At Dralle A/S we focused on organic growth only as the CEO controlled 51% of the shares and he didn't want anyone to pull the rug away from under him.
CEO, Kim Dralle would rather be the majority owner of something medium sized even, if it meant taking a lot longer time and harder work to reach it.

At Wuxus A/S we focused on scaling the company up the fastest, no matter who's sitting on the majority of the scares during or in the end.
CEO, Karsten Wuxus would rather be a small owner of something big, even if it meant compromising and adjusting the original business plan on a continuous basis.

Both solutions were more and less successful in their own right, but they also had their own sizable downsides.



Anyway, I am sending you some salary information concerning the COO position in Germany.
It should give you an indication on the scope of it.
I know you don't have the cash-flow to pay me anything near that amount, so I am willing to settle for much less in the period, that the startup company is still pressed for cash.
You can always try sending me an offer.

However, I can also understand, if you chose a candidate already located in Berlin.
I will have to work from home, before I have a salary, that makes moving much closer to/or buying a home in Berlin possible.

If you feel, that you cannot go without getting external funding, I would ask for much more funding than you have planned originally.
Even Business Angles can smell a great investment that's what they do the best, but they also try to press the price.
Besides they have Uber to compare with, but this time it's car sharing done in the right way.
They don't want to be left out of a green Uber solution - without all the bad press!

So don't be afraid of asking for the big amount of cash that's really needed to reach your final goal, not just the first couple of the milestones - without giving up anymore, than you wanted in the first place.
They will respect you a lot more for it and reward you for thinking big.
