Cause of infertility is 30 percent female, thirty percent male, 20 percent both and 20 percent unknown.

One ovary releases sing egg- ovulation
Pitu gland is under control of the small area of the brain known as the hypothalamus
New cycle nerve cells release hormone gonadotrophins releasing hormone (GnRH)
Into blood work
Pitu gland then creates a follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH)
Travels in the blood to ovaries
Creates Ovarian follicle
Ovarian follicle consists of an egg and a number of surrounding cells that secrete estrogen hormones and fluid. FSH helps the egg mature and prep for release
As the follicle matures hypo increases secretion of GnRH
Stim pituitary gland to create LH luteinizing hormone
Towards the middle of the cycle, there is a sudden peak in the blood level of LH acts as a trigger for ovulation.
The egg is guided trough suction through the fallopian tube 5-6 days to reach the uterus
Follicle ruptures and converts into corpus luteum
Cells secrete progesterone
Important changes in uterine lining prep for pregnancy
lining- endometrium changes in response to hormone levels during the cycle
First half follicular phases estrogen encourages regeneration of the endometrium
After ovulation changes in endo to prep for the fertilized egg
Secretion of progesterone from corpus luteum
Maintain secretion for several days
If egg unfertilized corpus withers falling levels of pro and estrogen cause the uterine lining to diminish casing the menstrual flow.
If an egg is fertilized, no menstruation occurs and corpus luteum continues to function first 3 months secrete progesterone
