THEME OF RELIANCE AND APPEARANCE

- She fears what others are going to tell.
- She is ready to compromise to live in a marriage without love. She knows that he doesnt love her, yet in the end she is happy. How ironical!
Earlier, she used to tell her students to sing with gusto but on that day she tells her students to sing songs of lament and that too with too much expression. This resulted that her bad mood was forcibly thrust on her students, which affected them too.
And immediately aftershe is back from receiving the call from her fiance that he is willing to get married to her, she goes back to the class bubbling with happiness and scolds the girls for looking so doleful; tells them to be happy and switches to a happy joyful song. This she does so with no explanation given to them and behaves as if nothing had happened, leaving the students completely perplexed.
- Now this happiness of hers - Do you actually think she was happy bcos Basil agreed to marry her or relieved that she would not have to live single. It was more important to her what ppl thought of her than whether Basil actually loved her or not.
