The author uses the last paragraph to summarize her main idea. She ends it with her final message to take away from the article. The main idea was that people tend to interact with people who have similar world views as themselves, and then due to social media platform design it happens online as well. The author ends her final paragraph by telling us that most people don’t interact with people who have differing world views in real life and they don’t interact with differing viewed people online either.

I don’t think there are any risks involved with personalizing your online bubble. This is because it will be so easy to personalize your if that option is added on major news sites. A click of a button can turn on or off differing view points from your own, and that freedom means everything for me. If you don’t like the option, just turn it off. If I get to choose what I want to see, then nothing has changed. I can just google what I want to see at any time. If I get to see controversial ideas from people who have differing viewpoints than my own, then I feel I will get a sense of space. I will feel like the world is bigger than what I think, and there are things out there I will never get to think about because I don’t have those experiences. Removing filter bubbles allows for education, and good conversations between people with differing experiences. The only drawback I can think of is about hate comments and some people who will feel the urge to make violent threats against people with differing world views. However, a lot of these comments are usually lost in the sea of comments that are actually being productive. The productive comments are liked and rise to the top, allowing for the non-productive comments to sink to the bottom. Comments can also be turned off, but other than that there are only benefits of removing filter bubbles.
