Whomping Willow, atau Dedalu Perkasa, merupakan pohon yang amat langka yangmana adalah tanaman endemi Skotlandia dan The Forest of Dean. Pohon Dedalu Perkasa ini termasuk tanaman desidua yang berbatang tebal dengan daun yang panjang dan tipis.
Keunikan dari pohon ini adalah pohon ini dapat bergerak. Bahkan dapat bersifat kasar, pohon ini akan menyerang apapun yang datang dengan jarak dekat dengan cabang pohonnya. Jika diibaratkan manusia, cabang pohon dari Dedalu Perkasa ini bagaikan tangan yang dapat menggerakkan. Oleh karena sifat inilah, pohon ini dapat dijadikan tempat perlindungan. Seperti Whomping Willow yang ditanam di Hogwarts untuk menyembunyikan dan melindungi wujud werewolf dari Remus Lupin saat ia bersekolah di Hogwarts.
Dedalu Perkasa di Hogwarts sangat terkenal di kalangan murid-murid Hogwarts. Whomping Willow di Hogwarts ini mulai ditanam pada tahun 1971 yang ditujukan untuk melindungi sebuah jalan rahasia ke Shierking Shack (Gubuk Menjerit) di Desa Hogsmeade. Dulunya, murid-murid di Hogwarts banyak yang menantang diri mendekati pohon Dedalu Perkasa ini. Hingga akhirnya pohon ini sempat mencelakai Davey Gudgeon dan hampir saja mengenai matanya.
Untuk perawatan Dedalu Perkasa ini, sesungguhnya dipelajari di Hogwarts pada tahun 1989 - 1990 oleh Proffesor Pomona Sprout kepada siswa tahun keenam yang mengambil N.E.W.T Herbologi.
