ADP-ribosylation is the addition of one or more ADP-ribose to a protein.- involved in many cellular processes, including cell signaling, DNA repair, gene regulation and apoptosis.
SIRT6 deacetylates histones and DNA polymerase b, a DNA repair protein. As a result, deletion of
SIRT6 in mice results in a severe premature aging phenotype
associated with defects in DNA repair
The nuclear sirtuin SIRT1 is the best-known member of
the family especially after it was described as the target of the
polyphenol, resveratrol which is found
in low quantities in red wine . SIRT1 deacetylates histones,
but its key activity involves the regulation of mitochondrial
biogenesis and stress response through the deacetylation of
some molecules

Sirtuins when sirtuins make deeacetylases they use NAD using to claevage acetly groups of target proteins, in a reaction that generates NAM PARP family members are also NAD -consuming enzymes.
