19-We understood that the chassis that MAN has to foresee needs to be in some specific standards.First of all, we wanted to show the “risky” vehicles using the ABC analysis we did for all of our data, regardless of the chassis type. After talking to the experts at MAN, they told us it would be sufficient to use eighty as our threshold risk percentage.
20-As you can see in the output, the significant chassis are the ones that have the total risk point as eighty or higher. Also, we have a lot of outliers in Bund, IBIS, and KSW. We thought that even though one chassis has a total risk point below eighty percent, it might be an important one if it has an outlier in Bund, IBIS or KSW value. So, it is important to see the “not risky by total risk point but risky in an outlier property” type of chassis in our query.
21-In our Access database, you can see that three tables are constantly updated, which are specified for each three chassis type.
Firstly and obviously we had to use the SELECT and FROM functions in SQL. These functions give our query the ability to show any selected data from the selected table. In our query, we have selected the total risk point, Bund point, KSW point and IBIS point.
Next, we used the WHERE function, that helped us to show us the data with the special specifications. An example to the specifications is the total risk point being higher or equal to eighty percent.
Also, we had to use the "OR" function. OR function gives the query the ability to add up entities if they have any one of the desired qualifications. In our Project the entity is chosen if it has eighty percent or higher total risk point OR Bund point equals to 9 OR IBIS point equals to 9 OR KSW point equals to 9. If any of the specifications is true for the entity, it is in the query.
Finally, we had to use the "UNION" function in SQL. The UNION function gives the query the ability to unite the entities that have its qualifications into one table. This means in our Project, once we used the other functions for all of our tables we can unite the outputs into one table.
22-You can see the total SQL code in the screen.
23-After all the analyzes, we calculated the total risk point for all the chassis types individually. These risk points show us the risk status of the vehicle. The risk status of the vehicle is dependend to the ABC analysis in a way that if the total risk score is over a certain percentage, we consider the vehicle risky. If a vehicle is found to be risky, precautions will be increased or more strictly followed during production.
24-With using our ABC analysis, the data is divided into two classes. The classes were risky, and not risky. In ABC analysis, we found that A, P and R chassis can be risky above eighty percent in general. We wanted to see the ones that have total risk point higher or equal to eighty percent. in our query. We enabled the chassis with these risk points to appear on the screen through the query. Also, we wanted to see the outliers in our query too even though they won’t be considered risky according to their total risk point. They are the ones that have unlikely high Bund, KSW or IBIS numbers. Thus, we tried to ensure that the company can see the variables that may pose a risk even if the vehicle is not considered risky.
25 - I will finish the presentation by talking about conclusions and future plans.
26- As you can see in the first semester mostly we did was to adapt to the Project and then mostly finish our analysis. With these analysis we thought that we have completed the Project in excel but in the second semester, we had some changes so we had to continue with some analysis then our literatüre reviwew then the part in Access which is the database creation.
27- You can see our gantt chart in the screen
28- In the future, this system can be evolved to a more user-friendly database with an added interface. With that interface, the workers that will edit the database whom aren’t from the quality department wouldn’t need as long education as the database we design.
Also, since the database uses the calculations made at different tables which are specified for different chassis types; if there is another chassis type included, it can simply be edited to the query with another UNION function. The risk calculations for the possible new chassis would be done using the same analysis tools for the sample and be edited from its own table.
29- You can see our references in the screen.
30- And thank you for listening.
