Epiglottis- prevents food from entering your lungs
Esophagus- carries food to the stomach
Liver- produces bile (stored in the gall bladder) which is released into the small intestine to break down fat molecules
Pancreas- Enzymes made here are released into the small intestine where it breaks down carbs and protein
Stomach- Grind food into smaller pieces and large protein molecules are broken down by hydrochloric acid
Small Intestine- Digested food is absorbed by villi which absorb and distributes nutrients
Large Intestine- indigestible materials move to the large intestine where the water is sucked out and the remaining solid is disposed of in the form of fecal waste
Rectum and Anus- Feces exit the large intestine through the rectum and leave the body through the anus
