Is it a sin from the issue bro Amos posted?

The case was one that need to critically look into, considering the lady in question, her decision, her reasons, the church view and above all the mind of Christ drawn for the Bible.

The matter was examined and deliberated on, in the light of the general knowledge of the word of God and human right sense of judgement by brethren.

A sister said that it is a sin because, it was a man sperm that was used, so sleeping or collecting when means the deposit in the sperm into her artificially that is not married is a total sin.

A brother stated outrightly that it is a sin, because it is not God's standard for mankind in procreation.

A sister take another look into the matter from a different view as many are see's it as sin and knowing that she did not sleep with a man, that she did not commit adultery or fornication, considering age is not on her side, she desperately need a child but she is simply obeying the scripture of going into the world and multiply and from this point of view, it is not outrightly a sin but taking from a deeply godly view, it will be seen as a sin.

Another sharply reiterate that it is a sin, for her decision for doing it was because of menopause, which means that she have not faith in God, considering Sarah and testimony of people that gave birth at old age.

Mummy, sighted the issue of impatient on the part of the sister that if she was not patient enough, if in the case of a twisted fate, that she got married and had no child, what would she have done. If she had waited enough she would have gotten an answer from the from the Lord.

Real life case were on artificial insemination where use as example that even a known man of God using it. It better to do it than remaining childless, this was the assertion made by one of our sister.

A sister ascertain that the issue is very critical, from the fact that she had being in the church for years, no marriage and going for artificial insemination was totally wrong because the child is not her blood and such will be termed as a slave later according to traditional system of eastern part of Nigeria.

Summaries and conclusion that were not seemingly logical from human perspective but from a complete real Christian view as captured from the word of God was drawn by the Bishop.

1 Corinthians 6:9

[9] Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

[10] Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

We should not forget that every child must bear a surname and the only approved way by God, is to have sexual intercourse, procreate and replenish the earth, in a legal marriage setting and that is why God made Eve for Adam. So the sisters action was a sin for it is an unhly way of having a child.

Many references were made in regard to issue and some were of the opinion that she should have adopted a child which would have been better and a question was asked if adoption is a sin. The Bishop answer was that adopting a child is for companionship and it also a mean of help the child by raising him or her, so it is not a sin.
