Just because I haven't posted about what has been going on lately does not mean I haven't actively tried to do something about the situation. Do not just limit yourself on posting about this just because it is the trendy thing to do. Sign the petitions, donate to one of the organizations if you can. If you cannot watch the youtube video the ad money of which goes to the BLM movement. Put it on repeat. Educate yourself, your family, your community. Promote black artists, authors, and other creators. Remember that revolutions like the Stonewall riots were started by black trans people. Heroes. Do not forget them. Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera were two of them. Especially during pride month when we get so caught up in the raimbow capitalism, the parades and partying we tend to forget where we started. We forget that the fight isn't over too. Do not forget about this when the news cycle moves on to another subject. That may be the convenient thing to do. But this is our problem. We keep forgeting. This generation lives in a rapidly evolving period. And after a few days we forget what we were fighting for. Break the cycle. Do not forget.
